Lady Bees have great start on day 1 of SWC

The Lady Bees had a strong start the the SWC Chapmionship tonight at Westlake. Only three events were finals and the girls won two of those events. The 4x800 ran a season's best of 9:35 as they captured first place. The relay included Megan Beaver, Jill Bajaksouzian, Lauren Greenlee and Tabitha Jacofsky. Becki Famurewa also captured a win in the shot put. Her throw of 44' 3.25" broke the meet record and also tied her school record (she set last year). Ashley King also scored in the shot put with a personal best throw of 31" 4.25".

Several athletes advanced onto the running events for Friday. In the 100m Julia D'Agostino and Morgan Krejci both qualified. All three Lady Bees advanced in the 400: Veronica Thompson, Ellen Prendergast, and Allison Labyk. In the 200m Veronica Thompson advanced. The 300m hurdlers all advanced to the finals as well. The hurdlers are Megan Beaver, Erin Beaver, and Jasmine Waugaman.
