State Bound!


Congratulations to our STATE MEET qualifiers!

The following athletes have qualified for the OHSAA State Track & Field Championships this weekend in Columbus.

Megan Beaver (Senior) 4x800, 4x400, 800
Lauren Greenlee (Senior) 4x800
Rachel Kotchman (Freshman) 4x400
Ellen Prendergast (Senior) 4x400
Veronica Thompson (Senior) 4x800, 4x400, 400

The 4 x800 broke a 24 year old regional record and set the school record with their time of 9:12.40 as they won the 4 x800 last Wednesday at the Austintown Regional.

On Friday, Veronica Thompson finished 2nd in the 400 (56.54) and Megan Beaver 3rd in the 800m (2:14.11) both advancing to the state meet. The 4x400 relay team of Kotchman, Prendergast, Beaver, and Thompson finished 2nd place with took over 3 seconds off of the school record they set last week. Their time and new school record is 3:51.77

Though the Lady Bees only competed in 4 out of the possible 17 events at the Regional meet the 4 performances were stellar! The girls earned a total of 32 points to finish third behind Solon and Shaker Heights.

The Lady Bees will compete on Friday and Saturday at the Jesse Owen Stadium. Good Luck in Columbus!
